Firm OverviewThe Law Offices of Michael L. Hanks were organized in 1992 to continue providing to clients the same high quality of legal representation as Mr. Hanks provided as a member of the Sacramento, California law firm of Friedman and Collard. Mr. Hanks graduated with honors from both the University of California and from McGeorge School of Law, where he was admitted to membership in the Traynor Society, the schools scholastic honor society. He graduated from McGeorge ranked 12th in the class in 1975. In 1983, Mr. Hanks received a Master's Degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University. He has practiced in the areas of commercial and business law, real estate, probate and estate planning. He is a problem solver, rather than merely a problem identifier, since that is what clients both expect and need. He believes that clear headed, objective, pragmatic analysis of a legal problem is the first step in its solution, and will provide the client with the best possible result. Mr. Hanks has been successful in helping clients minimize both the expense and trauma of legal problems by applying these techniques over 25 years of practice. During that time, he has gained experience in almost every kind of legal challenge presented within the areas of his practice, and his clients benefit from that experience. He also emphasizes availability and responsiveness, since an attorney can't help a client who can't reach him. Mr. Hanks is the author of a number of legal articles, many of which are available through this web site. He has been the featured speaker at a number of seminars presented by such firms as Merrill Lynch and Salomon Smith Barney. His excellent "bedside manner" and his emphasis on the human aspects of each client's situation provide creative solutions to real problems through legal excellence.
